The Sieci weekly magazine says it “reveals the shocking truth” in its latest issue “about Russian plans for aggression against Poland,” according to the wpolityce.pl website.

In an article entitled “Poland in Danger,” the magazine “outlines various scenarios” for how the country “could be forced to fend off Russian aggression," the wpolityce.pl website reported.

The article, penned by Marek Budzisz, cites what it says are reports by US military staff and experts on “new generation warfare,” suggesting that Poland "cannot wait" but must prepare to defend a potential attack.

The reports are based on analyses of “Moscow's activities, exercises carried out by its armed forces, statements by politicians and military officials, and strategic documents, both those available to the general public and those less readily accessible,” according to wpolityce.pl.

One of the takeaways is that “if a conflict breaks out” it could involve not just the eastern flank of NATO, but non-members such as Sweden and Finland as well as Ukraine, which could “play a key role,” wpolityce.pl reported.

Meanwhile, a Polish security expert has told Sieci in an interview that Russia is seeking to sow chaos and destabilize decision making in Poland by pumping out propaganda and spreading fake news that undermine the national interests of its western neighbour.

An international commentator on defence and national-security issues argued last year—in an opinion piece posted on the nationalinterest.org website—that Russia might have a hard time conquering Poland in a war as Warsaw "has some impressive ways to strike back."
