28% of Polish workers switched to telecommuting amid pandemic, survey finds

Twenty-eight percent of Polish employees have switched to remote work amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a survey.

Meanwhile, 39 percent have not decided to work from home although such an option exists, and 34 percent have not done so because the nature of their work does not allow that, according to the study by the Pollster Research Institute.

Young employees and those living in large cities have embraced telecommuting more often than others, the poll found, as quoted by Poland's PAP news agency.

At the same time, one in five employees said they were more efficient working remotely than otherwise, according to the poll.

A similar percentage said they were less efficient working from home, and 56 percent saw no change in efficiency between telecommuting and working from the office.

The remaining 5 percent were undecided, the PAP news agency reported.

The study was carried out on a representative sample of 1,022 Poles aged 15 and over from July 31 to August 3.
