The festival, which provides Poland's most prestigious showcase of new home-grown movies, is scheduled to take place from December 8 to 12 in the northern Baltic port city.
The movies in the main competition will include four full-length directorial debuts and six entries which are their directors' second films.
Among the contenders will be Never Gonna Snow Again, directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert, which has been picked as Poland’s candidate for best international feature film at the Oscars.
The movie is a comedy drama about a young Ukrainian who arrives in Poland in search of employment and lands a job in a Warsaw massage parlour, where he becomes a guru-like figure to his clients.
Szumowska has become one of Poland’s most acclaimed film directors. Her 2013 movie In The Name Of won prizes at the Berlin film festival and the Gdynia festival.
The top award at last year’s Gdynia Film Festival went to director Agnieszka Holland’s Mr. Jones.
