The country’s minimum monthly wage rose to PLN 2,800 (around EUR 615, USD 745), from PLN 2,600 in 2020.

Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate went up to PLN 18.30 (EUR 4, USD 4.90), from PLN 17, effective January 1.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in September 2019 that the minimum wage in Poland would increase in stages in 2020 and 2021.

The wage hikes are part of a package of spending pledges Poland’s ruling conservatives made ahead of 2019 parliamentary elections.

The minimum wage in Poland rose to PLN 2,600 at the start of last year, from PLN 2,250 in 2019.

The average Polish monthly wage in November was PLN 5,484.07 (EUR 1,237, USD 1,514), the country’s Central Statistical Office reported last month.
