The vote came as the organization was holding its 45th Congress in Montreux, Switzerland on Tuesday.

"The president of the Polish Football Association (PZPN), Zbigniew Boniek, has been elected a UEFA vice-president for a four-year term,” the PZPN’s Secretary-General Maciej Sawicki announced on Twitter.

“It is a great, individual honour in recognition of his work as a member of the UEFA Executive Committee and his role as head of the Polish Football Association,” Sawicki added.

Boniek, a former top Poland player, will combine his new role with being a member of the UEFA Executive Committee, a position he has held since 2017 and to which he was re-elected on Tuesday.
