From this Sunday coronavirus restrictions in Poland are being further relaxed, as the number of new infections continues to fall.

The Health Ministry informed this Sunday of 227 new infections and 11 deaths. 1903 people remained hospitalized with COVID-19.

Last Thursday, Poland's government announced a further easing of coronavirus restrictions, allowing more people to churches, at trade fairs, conferences, concerts and hotels. As of June 13, churches can be half full.

From June 26, sports facilities will be allowed to open at half capacity for sports events and concerts. Hotels will be able to open at three-quarters capacity.
Moreover, those who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus will not count toward these limits.

Earlier in the past week more people were allowed to attend public gatherings and ceremonies such as weddings as the country moved to the next phase of easing its coronavirus lockdown.
With children back in schools and restaurants and sports facilities reopened to the general public,  Poland has now lifted many of the curbs it put in place to battle the COVID-19 epidemic.

However, the requirement remains to cover nose and mouth on public transport, in shops and at other public settings.

Meanwhile the national COVID-19 vaccination drive continues, now including the 12 to 16 age group. The vaccination certificate, set to be ready at EU level from July 1, became operational in Poland as of June 1, with the attached mobile application active as of June 10.
