Billed as the largest business event in Central Europe, the annual European Economic Congress in Katowice explores key economic challenges in Poland, Europe and the wider world.
This year’s expected guests include Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and a contingent of Polish government officials, among them Finance Minister Tadeusz Kościński, Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk, Climate and Environment Minister Michał Kurtyka, and Health Minister Adam Niedzielski.
The Vice-President of the European Commission for Interinstitutional Relations, Maroš Šefčovič, and Belarusian opposition figure Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya are expected to attend remotely.
The debates will focus on various issues in business and technology, including recovery from the coronavirus crisis, energy transformation, digitization, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence.
The conference, which is now in its 13th year and runs until Wednesday, will be accompanied by European Tech and Start-Up Days, an event aiming to support hi-tech business start-ups.
