By the morning of February 1, 2023, at least 1,377 children had been killed or injured in Ukraine "as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression," the Ukrainian Prosecutor-General’s Office said in a statement, as quoted by state news agency Ukrinform.

The statement added that "these data are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of hostilities, in temporarily captured and liberated territories," according to the ukrinform.net website.

On Tuesday, a 16-year-old was injured in a Russian strike on the embattled town of Bakhmut in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, Ukrinform reported.

Russian forces have damaged or destroyed more than 3,126 schools and other educational establishments throughout Ukraine since they invaded the country on February 24, 2022, according to data cited on Wednesday by the Ukrinform news agency.

Wednesday is day 343 of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
