Vasyl Zvarych made the appeal in Warsaw on Monday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s iAR news agency reported.
Ukraine’s ambassador spoke at the so-called Standing Working Conference on Support for Ukraine.
The event, which also featured Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, was designed to review the various forms of assistance being delivered to war-torn Ukraine, according to officials.
Zvarych said: “By attacking Ukraine and violating international law, Russia has not only declared war on Ukraine, but is also posing a threat to all civilised countries.”
‘Russia’s appetites are growing when it feels unpunishable’
Ukraine’s ambassador said: “We need unity and solidarity among all of us. The appetites of the aggressor, of neo-imperial Russia, are growing in proportion as it feels unpunishable, so we must unite to win this war and hold the Russian aggressor to account.”
Zvarych stressed: “The toll of this war totals over 7,000 killed civilians, according to United Nations estimates, more than 77,000 civil infrastructure facilities have also been destroyed, as well as more than 50 percent of critical energy infrastructure.”
‘Together we will win’
He called for the establishment of a special tribunal to try “Russia’s crimes of genocide and war crimes.”
“I believe that together we are invincible and together we will win,” the envoy stated.
‘Poland welcomed more than a million refugees from Ukraine’
Ukraine’s ambassador also thanked Poland “for supporting Ukraine from the first days of Russian aggression” and “for welcoming more than a million refugees, mainly women and children, who are able to enjoy safety and normality.”
Zvarych said: “90 percent of refugees are women and children, which means that their husbands can be sure of their safety and can therefore fight for their country, doing everything to ensure that mothers with children return to Ukraine as soon as possible.”
Monday is day 348 of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
