Akin to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), the new Polish "Transformation Command" would aim to streamline responsibilities, allowing division and brigade commanders to focus on unit collaboration and combat readiness rather than individual soldier training, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Speaking at the opening of the Defence24 Days conference in Warsaw on Monday, Kosiniak-Kamysz reiterated the priority of equipping Polish soldiers with the latest gear.

He spoke about reallocating resources towards this goal. Notably, he mentioned the upcoming arrival of F-35 fighter aircraft from the United States.

He advocated for maintaining existing arms contracts and underscored Poland's resilience against external threats, particularly from Russia, which he said was seeking to dominate the world in its role as the "evil empire."

"We can't get used to war, we can't get accustomed to war," said Kosiniak-Kamysz, adding that "no one in Europe is safe as long as there is war" in Ukraine.

Kosiniak-Kamysz reaffirmed Poland's commitment as a pillar of international organizations such as the European Union and NATO, urging increased defense spending among member states.

"There is no NATO without Poland, and there is no European Union without Poland," he said. "We will engage in defense spending at the highest, historical level exceeding 4 percent," he pledged.

Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of the EU's full engagement in defense, proposing the appointment of a "commissioner for security and defense" within the new European Commission.

Warsaw's Defence24 Days is the largest conference in Central and Eastern Europe focusing on defence and security. It gathers military leaders, policy makers and defense industry professionals.
