Świątek powers through to quarterfinals in Rome, blasts Angelique Kerber

World number one Iga Świątek continued her winning streak at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, advancing to the quarterfinals after a commanding victory over Germany's Angelique Kerber.

The match, which lasted just over ninety minutes on Monday, ended with scores of 7:5 and 6:3 in favor of Świątek.

This victory marks the third win for Świątek against Kerber, who is not only a former world number one but also holds Polish citizenship.

Looking ahead, Świątek is set to face American tennis player Madison Keys in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Their upcoming match is a rematch from the semifinals of the last 1000-ranked tournament in Madrid, where Świątek emerged victorious with a solid 6:1, 6:3 win before ultimately clinching the title.
