Andruszkiewicz outpaced Spain’s Judith Tortosa Villa and America’s Sayer Grooms in the 100m race, crossing the finish line in just 17.51 seconds on Friday. Her performance not only earned her the gold medal but also set a new European record.

“It was just great. Everything worked out perfectly,” said an elated Andruszkiewicz after the race. “I wanted to finish the race on the box, and I did it, and I did it in a very good time.”

Tortosa Villa secured second place with a time of 18.53 seconds, while Grooms finished third at 19.02 seconds.

The world championships in Kobe take place 3 months before the Paralympics in Paris. During the morning session alone, two world records, five continental records and one record for this competition were set.
