Museum buys rare photos of Polish pianist-turned-statesman Paderewski
The Independence Museum in Poznań, western Poland, says it has purchased at an auction a set of previously unseen photographs of pianist and politician Ignacy Jan Paderewski.

The museum’s Miłosz Stroński told Radio Poland that the acquisition was of “immense historic value.”
Paderewski played an important role in helping Poland regain its independence in 1918 after more than 120 years of foreign rule.
