According to Rzeczpospolita, Google aims to establish itself as the third major player in Poland's technology sector, a position it seeks to achieve through its diverse array of offerings.

Michiel van Eldik, general manager of Google Devices and Services for the Europe region, highlighted the conglomerate's evolution into a comprehensive technology provider.

"We are a software company, organizing information on the Web so that it is useful to the user, and we have been doing this for about 25 years. We have also been investing significantly in artificial intelligence for some time. But now in Poland we will also be referred to as a smart devices company. Hardware allows us to combine software and AI in a unique way," van Eldik said in an interview with the newspaper.

The Google Store's debut in Poland coincides with its launch in the Czech Republic, marking a strategic expansion into Central European markets.

"The Google Store will offer not only smartphones, but also other devices to start with, including handsets and accessories. But the plan is to gradually expand Google's family of products in the domestic offering with smartwatches, tablets, and other accessories. Ultimately, we want to introduce our entire ecosystem of products to Poland," van Eldik announced.

Quoting research by Canalys, "Rzeczpospolita" highlighted the buoyant growth trajectory of the smartphone market, with global sales witnessing a 10 percent uptick in the first quarter of the year. In Europe, the growth rate stood at 6 percent, indicating promising prospects for Google's entry into the region.
