Jacek Dobrzyński, the spokesman for the minister coordinating the country's security services, made the announcement via the X platform, stating that "the services are continuing further activities in this matter."

Tuesday's government meeting in Katowice is in conjunction with the 16th annual European Economic Congress in the southern Polish city, where Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his ministers are in attendance.

Participants at the event, which focuses on energy transformation and security, also include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

During the Cabinet meeting, due to begin at noon, Polish government ministers are expected to discuss plans for an "energy voucher" and a proposal to introduce a maximum electricity price of PLN 500 per MWh for households and PLN 693 per MWh for local government units, public utility entities and small and medium-sized enterprises in the second half of 2024, state news agency PAP reported.

Currently, the maximum energy price for households stands at PLN 412 net per 1 MWh, excluding VAT and excise duty, for consumers within specified limits.
