The event will be held at the iconic Parc du Cinquantenaire park in central Brussels from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, and will include a family picnic.

This year's celebration will coincide with the 20th anniversary of Poland's membership in the European Union.

Attractions will include family activities, contests, food tasting and live music by performers such as Polish singer-songwriter Daria Zawiałow, the embassy says.

All those interested should follow the embassy's Facebook account for details and updates.

Last year's celebration in Brussels, part of the annual Polish Heritage Days festivities held by Polish embassies worldwide, attracted a crowd of Poles living in Belgium and beyond, according to reports at the time.

Attractions included a performance by the Cracovia Danza Ballet inspired by the 550th anniversary of the birth of the great Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus and a host of Polish culinary specialties.

The proceeds from the sales went to hospitals in Ukraine.

Poland's ambassador to Belgium, Rafal Siemianowski, has said that "it is important to showcase Polish tradition and culture not only to Poles living in Belgium, but also to Belgians."
