The captain of Poland’s national squad, who also plays for Bayern Munich is the only footballer in his German team who made the ranking.

In a vote by football experts of the Parisian newspaper, the Pole received 455 points, only 6 less than Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The third place was taken by Frenchman Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, who scored 406 points.

Also, Poland’s Wojciech Szczęsny, who plays for Juventus Turin, took tenth place among goalkeepers in the daily’s ranking.

Last year was very fruitful for Lewandowski. He became the most successful footballer in the world, scoring a total of 54 goals in all club and international appearances last calendar year, totalling 58 games.
