Details and the name of the coach will be revealed soon, the Polish Ski Association (PZN), the national governing body for the sport, said this week.

"The Polish Ski Association has accepted Kamil Stoch’s request and will prepare general guidelines for his individual preparations for the new season," it said in a statement.

The acceptance of the request is based on Stoch’s track record of outstanding achievements, it added.

However, the board of the Polish Ski Association needs to discuss the plan thoroughly to find the most effective solution, according to the statement.

The Polish Ski Association plans to outline the detailed terms and conditions of the arrangement next month in consultation with all those involved and will make an announcement to the public.

For the Polish team, the 2023/2024 ski-jumping World Cup season was one of the worst in recent years.

Aleksander Zniszczoł’s 19th place in the overall classification was the best result, and he was the only Pole who stood on the podium in individual competitions.

Stoch, a triple Olympic champion and two-time world champion, finished 26th in the overall standings, his worst result in 15 years, failing to make it to the top 10 in any individual competition.

Despite these uninspiring results, Austrian Thomas Thurnbichler will remain as the head coach of the national team, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Stoch, 37, has previously won the Crystal Globe twice as the World Cup champion in 2014 and 2018.
