The talks, known as intergovernmental consultations, will be led by Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Ukraine's Denys Shmyhal, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Major topics include defence, agriculture and trade, in addition to Ukraine's bid to join the European Union, according to officials.

Announcing the talks last month, the Polish prime minister voiced hope that "discussions among ministers and deputy ministers will prove highly beneficial in addressing border issues and enhancing our bilateral trade."

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Thursday is day 764 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
