The attack, which lasted nearly four hours, saw Ukrainian forces engaged in repelling the assault from multiple directions, state news agency PAP quoted as Ukrainian military spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk as saying. Humeniuk noted that the enemy utilized several groups of Shahed drones deployed from both the Black Sea and the temporarily occupied territories.

Humeniuk emphasized that the assault targeted not only energy facilities but also industrial sites, with drones covertly flown over residential buildings.

Telegram reports from the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine confirmed attacks on transportation infrastructure in the south, particularly in the Zaporizhia region. Shrapnel from downed drones caused damage to residential buildings, resulting in a fire that damaged at least 10 houses and left two people injured.

Russian forces employed both strategic and tactical aviation during the assault. Ukrainian air force commander General Mykola Oleshchuk stated earlier that Ukrainian troops successfully neutralized 26 out of 28 drones used by Russia for missile attacks across the Odessa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia regions overnight.
