Four dead after gas blast in Polish city

Four people, including a child, were reported dead after an apparent gas blast ripped through a single-family home in the eastern Polish city of Białystok on Monday.

Dozens of firefighters were deployed after the building was rocked by the explosion and erupted in flames around midday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Rescue workers also arrived on the scene to sift through the debris.

No survivors were found, a spokesman for firefighters, Paweł Ostrowski, told reporters.
