The same day the first 10,000 Poles are expected to receive shots against COVID-19, which has claimed over 25,000 lives in this country.
Michał Dworczyk, the Polish prime minister’s chief of staff and the man coordinating a national vaccination programme, said an information campaign was already underway, and would pick up steam on December 27.
On that day “various forms of advertising will be launched, both on TV and electronic media, thanks to which we will inform people about the vaccine and the vaccination process, and encourage everyone to get shots,” he added.
Dworczyk has previously said he expects the first 10,000 vaccines to reach Poland by December 26.
Polish officials said on Tuesday they expect nearly 600,000 coronavirus vaccines to reach their country by the first week of January.
State news agency PAP reported that the government aimed to carry out about 3.5 million vaccinations a month as further supplies arrive.
First in line for shots will be healthcare staff, followed by pensioners in care homes, people over 60, police, soldiers and teachers, officials have said.
Poland on Tuesday reported 7,192 new coronavirus infections and 309 more deaths, bringing its total number of cases to 1,214,525 and fatalities to 25,783.
