Polish president, PM to discuss Ukraine war with Australian governor-general

The Polish president and prime minister are expected to meet with the governor-general of Australia, David Hurley, in Warsaw on Monday for talks on Russia's war against Ukraine and energy security, according to officials.

Hurley is visiting Warsaw as Poland and Australia celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties.

While in the Polish capital, Hurley is also scheduled to hold talks with parliamentary Speakers Elżbieta Witek and Tomasz Grodzki.

Government spokesman Piotr Müller said the talks would focus on bilateral cooperation, Russia's aggression against Ukraine and energy and food security.

The Polish and Australian prime ministers in February issued a joint statement to mark the 50th anniversary of their countries establishing full diplomatic relations.
