The move follows a decision by Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński, state news agency PAP reported.
"Due to the continuing threat of illegal migration ... the Minister of Interior and Administration extended the temporary reintroduction of border controls on the section of the state border with Slovakia for the period from February 2 to March 2, 2024," the Polish interior ministry said in a statement.
Slovakia is a transit country for migrants mostly from the Middle East and Afghanistan seeking to reach western Europe, the Reuters news agency reported.
Officials said in October that the renewed checks on the Slovak border were producing the expected results, stopping illegal migrants from transiting through Poland.
Poland reinstated temporary border checks on the Slovak border on October 4. Initially put in place for 10 days, the measure was subsequently extended until November 2. The latest extension further prolongs the checks by another month.
