Residents from a nearby housing estate were evacuated as a precaution while authorities secured the apartment, Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Daniel Brodowski confirmed. Police, firefighters and emergency services remain at the scene, with the operation expected to continue for several hours.
Residents evacuated as pyrotechnic materials secured
The case, first reported by radio station RMF FM, involves three 19-year-olds from Olsztyn and the surrounding area who face charges related to terrorist activities. They were detained earlier this year but later released under monitoring.
Investigators said the suspects collected pyrotechnic materials and instructional manuals, trained at shooting ranges, and drew inspiration from known perpetrators of mass attacks, including Anders Breivik, Brenton Tarrant and Timothy McVeigh.
The young men have been charged with preparing terrorist attacks and participating in training aimed at carrying out acts of terrorism.

Fourth suspect detained
Authorities later arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the case, Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, confirmed.
There is no threat to the life or health of residents in the building where the suspect was detained. All residents had previously been evacuated, and security services continue to search the apartment. Dobrzyński said a sniffer dog trained to detect pyrotechnic materials was involved and has already located a trail.
