Zbigniew Rau and Antony Blinken held the call in order to coordinate the international reply, the Polish foreign ministry announced in a statement quoted by the state PAP news agency.
The two top diplomats said that Warsaw and Washington would continue to provide comprehensive support for Kyiv and offer humanitarian aid to people fleeing the Russian invasion, the statement added.
Rau and Blinken also said that Russia would be slapped with further sanctions and expressed concern over the situation around Ukraine’s power plants, according to the Polish foreign ministry.
Also on Thursday, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki hosted the US Vice President Kamala Harris.
Thursday is day fifteen of the Russian assault on Ukraine, which began on February 24.
