“We will consistently increase the armored potential of the Polish armed forces," Mariusz Błaszczak wrote on Twitter on Tuesday during a visit to South Korea that began on Sunday.
"I have been presented with an offer to buy South Korean K2 tanks,” he added.
“The cooperation will involve a high level of Polish content, which will give a developmental boost to the Polish arms industry,” Błaszczak also tweeted.
On Monday, the Polish defence minister and his South Korean counterpart Lee Jong-sup signed a bilateral agreement to work together in weapons supplies and military research.
Błaszczak told reporters that the agreement offered opportunities for the development of joint research and production of modern weapons.
"This is a chance for Polish scientists and the Polish arms industry,” Błaszczak said at a press conference in Seoul, as cited by state news agency PAP.
He added that Polish experts would soon travel to Seoul to discuss the details of the partnership.
“All this is necessary for Poland to be safe, to deter the aggressor, so that the Kremlin's rulers know that an attack on Poland will not pay off for them,” Błaszczak said.
