BALANCE Poland's watchdog chairs global consumer protection body

On 1 July, Poland’s consumer protection authority UOKiK assumed the role of chairing the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) for a duration of one year.

The main objective of the Polish presidency is to empower consumers by promoting responsible choices, additionally, the focus extends to dark patterns, which encompass unfair strategies that exploit consumer behavior to manipulate their decision-making process. BALANCE talks to Tomasz Chróstny, the president of UOKiK to find out more.
