Between January and June 2023, a total of 238,700 new passenger cars were registered in Poland, which represents a 12.4 percent rise on the first half of 2022,  PZPM and KPMG said in their report.

They added: “In the first half of 2023, institutional customers registered over 172,000 passenger vehicles, 15.6 percent more than in the corresponding period of 2022. Premium+ car sales grow by 18.7 percent

Sales of premium+ cars also grew in Poland in the first half of 2023, by 18.7 percent year-on-year, PZPM and KPMG said.

This included a 15.1 percent rise (47,600 cars) among institutional investors and a 38.8 percent surge (10,400 cars) among individual customers, the PAP news agency reported.

Commenting on Poland’s latest passenger-car sales figures, PZPM’s CEO Jakub Faryś said: “The first half of 2023 can be considered successful. The number of new registered cars grew by over 12 percent and crucially, by almost 16 percent among institutional customers.“

He added: “This is evidence that business sentiment is positive and the economy… is doing quite well.”

Moreover, "better results were seen also in automotive factories in Poland, where nearly 306,000 vehicles were produced in the first half of this year, an increase of 42.7% y/y," the report said.

Meanwhile, the number of new alternative-engine cars registered in Poland between January and June 2023 totalled 102,000, a 24 percent increase on the corresponding period of 2022, the PAP news agency reported.
