Czechs fell in love with the Baltic Sea - to the point, where they decided to launch a new train line linking their capital with the Polish coast. The route will start in Prague, lead through Pardubice, Wrocław, Poznań and Bydgoszcz - and end in the seaside city of Gdynia. "Prague, Wrocław and Tricity on the Baltic coast will be connected by a new railway line from December 2024. One year in advance, we signed a ten-year contract for the line Ex 32 Prague - Pardubice - Lichkov, state border. It will allow the passengers to easily reach the Polish Baltic Sea by train" - Martin Kupka, Czech Minister of Transport, wrote on platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The journey from Prague to Wrocław should take four hours, and from the Czech capital to Gdynia - about nine hours - estimates the Czech minister. "Trains will depart four times a day from both ends of the route at 4-hour intervals. The exact routes will be set in the course of our works on the 2025 timetable."
