2023 has been a year of record growth for Poland's tour operators and travel agencies, the Parkiet website reported on Wednesday.
Poles have started to travel again following the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Polish currency has maintained a relatively strong position against the dollar and the euro, according to industry insiders.
Meanwhile, stable oil prices have kept aviation fuel costs down, also helping drive demand for travel services, officials say.
Thanks to these trends, shares in Polish tour operator Rainbow Tours have grown by some 240% in 2023, Parkiet reported.
Meanwhile, shares in the charter airline Enter Air rose by 96% since the start of the year, according to news outlets.
A leading travel agency, Itaka, said it would service a million domestic customers for the first time in 2023, rp.pl reported.
The company also expects a turnover of PLN 4 billion (EUR 925 million), and a best-ever financial result in 2023, according to officials.
