The reading was slightly better than expected by analysts, who had forecast industrial production to decrease 1.6 percent last month, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in June was 1.2 percent higher than in May, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production fell by 0.8 percent in year-on-year terms in June, while increasing 0.4 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office reported.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 3.3 percent in Poland in May.
