The reading was worse than expected by analysts, who had forecast industrial production to decrease 0.8 percent last month, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in July was 8.5 percent lower than in June, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said on Monday.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production fell by 2 percent in year-on-year terms in July, while decreasing 1 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office reported.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.4 percent in Poland in June.
