The finance ministry in Warsaw made the statement via social media on Thursday.

It said on the X platform: “In 2024, Poland will record the biggest GDP growth among Europe’s big economies. It will reach 2.7 percent, according to a forecast by the European Commission.”

Meanwhile, Poland’s consolidated public debt was 48.2 percent of GDP in the second quarter of this year, the finance ministry added.

Quoting these figures, Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska wrote on X that “there are reasons to look into the future with optimism and expect the economic growth to accelerate.”

She stated that, according to the government, there were “no threats” to "the performance of the 2023 budget," adding that “there are signs of an upturn in consumption, and so also in tax revenue,” Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Rzeczkowska also said that Poland’s ratings were stable, as confirmed by international ratings agencies.

Poland’s budget deficit stood at PLN 34.7 billion (EUR 7.8 billion) at the end of September, accounting for 37.7 percent of the PLN 92 billion (EUR 20.7 billion) figure foreseen in the 2023 budget, officials said.

Meanwhile, budget revenue stood at PLN 418 billion (EUR 94.1 billion), or 69.5 percent of the annual target, while budget expenditure was PLN 452.7 billion (EUR 101.9 billion), or 65.3 percent of the target, after the first nine months of 2023, the PAP news agency reported.
