The flights, operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, will run three times a week and take approximately 6.5 hours each way. This new route aligns with LOT's strategic expansion plans for 2024-2028, aiming to bolster its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and explore the touristic and business opportunities of the Arabian Peninsula.

The inaugural flight from Warsaw to Riyadh set off on Tuesday, June 4. In addition to Tuesdays, flights to the Saudi capital will also operate on Thursdays and Sundays. Return flights will depart from Riyadh on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

"Riyadh is another launched destination included in LOT Polish Airlines' strategy for 2024-2028. The Polish carrier seeks to strengthen its position in Central and Eastern Europe, discovering this time the potential for the development of tourism and business opportunities in the Arabian Peninsula," emphasized the national carrier in a press release.

LOT also highlighted that Saudi Arabia, one of the world's richest countries, primarily relies on oil extraction and processing, along with natural gas, rock salt, gold, and other raw materials.

According to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Saudi Arabia boasts the largest economy among Arab countries and is the leading oil producer within the OPEC group. Data from the Ministry of Development and Technology indicates that in 2022, Polish exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to USD 914.7 million, while imports totaled USD 6 billion.
