Since the end of last year, the number has increased by 12.9 percent, state news agency PAP reported on Thursday, citing data from Poland’s state-run Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
At the end of June, there were 818,772 foreign nationals registered with the Polish social security administration.
Of that number, 58.8 percent were salaried employees, 2.8 percent ran their own businesses, and the rest had other forms of employment.
The largest group (73.7 percent) were Ukrainians, numbering 603,481 at the end of June, a 39.2 percent rise from a year earlier.
