More than 50 stands representing a host of NGOs have ben set up in Katowice's market square, with organisations from a whole range of sectors: aid, culture, sports, ecolgy, hobbies, advisory and others. NGOs active in culture are presenting stage performances, book exchanges, animations for children, games and a lottery.
There are workshops in cooking, art or jewellery making, and also sensory workshops in horticultural therapy (healing with the help of plants and gardens), zero waste (how not to waste food), and even lessons in crocheting and knitting, and consultations with lawyers and mediators. Visitors can also check blood pressure and blood sugar, do a spirometry test and learn breast self-examination methods.
The festival is being held in Katowice for the 12th time, co-organised by the Jarmark Kultury Assotiation with the help of municipal funds.
