Emhoff will be in Kraków from January 26 to 29, the White House said.

It added: "On January 27, he will visit the Memorial and Museum at Auschwitz-Birkenau. He will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony and attend the annual commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day."

"U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt will also join the visit," according to the statement.

From January 30 to 31, Emhoff will be in Berlin to attend, alongside Lipstadt, "a convening of special envoys and coordinators working to combat antisemitism," according to the statement.

In both Kraków and Berlin, "the Second Gentleman will participate in a series of engagements with local Jewish communities and civil society representatives and visit historical and cultural sites," the White House said in its statement.

Holocaust survivors and officials are expected to gather for ceremonies in southern Poland on January 27 to mark the 78th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
