"Getting adequate levels of vitamins is vital for 81 percent of Poles," Kantar's Agata Zadrożna said.

For 71 percent of Polish consumers, eating fruit and vegetables is the best way to get a vitamin boost, according to the study.

Meanwhile, 51 percent say they rely solely on fruit and vegetables as a source of vitamins.

One in five Poles bolsters their diet with vitamin supplements and 15 percent reach for vitamin-enriched natural products, such as fortified juices and breakfast cereals, the survey also found.

Meanwhile, one in 10 respondents believes that dietary supplements alone are enough to ensure an adequate level of vitamins, the survey showed, as cited by Poland's PAP news agency.
