In the last qualifying round, following a two-hour match, Fręch, defeated Spain’s Paula Badosa 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
The Pole is 222nd in the WTA ranking and the Spaniard, no. 2 seed in the qualifiers, is in 91st position.
The game marked the third meeting of the two tennis players and the second victory for Fręch.
Other Polish players set to take part in the main tournament opening on Monday are Iga Świątek, Magda Linette and Hubert Hurkacz.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak did not manage to advance to the grand slam. The Polish tennis player lost 1:6 and 5:7 to the Belarusian Ilya Ivashka the final qualifying round on Friday.
