Seven world championship medals for Polish canoers, kayakers

Polish canoers and kayakers claimed a total of seven medals, six silver and one bronze, at this year’s Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, Hungary.

On Sunday, the last day of the championships, Poland’s Tomasz Kaczor won the silver in the men’s C1 1000 m event, while Piotr Mazur and Bartosz Grabowski finished runner-up in the men’s K2 200 m.

In yet another Polish podium finish on Sunday, Karolina Naja, Helena Wiśniewska, Anna Puławska and Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk took the bronze in the women’s K4 500 m.

On Saturday, Poland's Marta Walczykiewicz took the silver in the women’s K1 200 m, and Justyna Iskrzycka added another in the women’s K1 1000 m.

Poland’s third silver that day came from the kayak duo of Karolina Naja and Anna Puławska in the women's K2 500 m.

On Friday, the Polish canoe duo of Arsen Śliwiński and Michał Łubniewski took the silver in the men’s C2 200 m.

The 2019 Canoe Sprint World Championships took place from August 21 to 25.
