Sonik, who is a three-time world champion and winner of the 2015 Dakar rally, finished an hour behind the overall winner, Chile’s Ignacio Casale, and 45 minutes behind France’s Simon Vitse, who came second.
Sonik made it to the podium for the first time since his 2015 win, while another Pole, Kamil Wiśniewski, finished fifth, Polish news website onet.pl reported.
Poland’s Lindner, a “rising star in the quad category,” according to the official Dakar Rally website, claimed his maiden win in the last stage on Friday with over four minutes to spare over Casale.
