The Pole lost to the reigning world champion by split decision during an event called UFC 248 in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The fight was hailed as one of the greatest in MMA history. Jędrzejczyk left the octagon with a massive swelling on her forehead, but doctors later ruled out any serious injuries, news media reported.

Jędrzejczyk, 32, was champion from March 2015 to November 2017, when she lost her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight title in a bout against Rose Namajunas of the United States.

The Pole in April 2018 failed to recapture her strawweight belt in a rematch with Namajunas.

Jędrzejczyk in October last year defeated America’s Michelle Waterson by unanimous decision in a women’s strawweight bout in Tampa, Florida.
