The project focuses on the life and work of Polish writer Stanisław Lem (1921–2006), one of the household names in sci-fi literature, an internationally renowned author of novels, short stories, literary criticism, and philosophical essays.

Lem’s books have been translated into forty-four languages and have sold more than thirty million copies. Lem’s Galaxy, available at  Galaktykalema.pl, is notable for its extensive use of the interviews Lem gave to Polish Radio over many decades. In this way, it is the writer himself who serves as the guide to his literary world.

Lem’s Galaxy has also received a nomination in the 2022 Prix Italia media competition.

Meanwhile, Let me tell you, a Polish Radio Theatre production, written by Marta Rebzda and directed by  Waldemar Modestowicz, is one of the 28 Prix Europa nominees in the Radio Fiction category.

Let me tell you is a moving portrayal of the way Alzheimer’s disease has affected one family's life. Earlier this year, the feature won the top award, in the Longer Plays category, at the UK International Audio Drama Festival in Canterbury.

The  list of nominations also includes two productions by Poland’s state TV broadcaster TVP: Marusarz. Tatra Eagle in the TV Fiction category, and Lebanon. Explosion of Anger in the TV Documentary category.

Over 250 media organisations submitted a total of 606 projects for this year’s Prix Europa. Nominations went to 187 projects, representing 28 countries. The awards ceremony will take place in Potsdam, Germany, in the last week of October.

Meanwhile, the 74th edition of the Prix Italia competition has attracted over 320 entries from 83 broadcasters in 50 countries. Prizewinners will be announced during the Prix Italia festival, to be held in Bari, Apulia, between October 4-8.
