The disc features music by early Baroque composers, including Monteverdi, Caccini and Frescobaldi. It also includes Tamburetta by Polish composer Adam Jarzębski (1590-1649).
Orliński is partnered by the instrumentalists of Il Pomo d’Oro.
In the liner notes, Orliński explains the CD's title: “With this very specifically selected program I want to focus on the general meaning of the word 'beyond.' Mostly to show people that this music is beyond its times. It is still relevant, it is still alive, vibrant, touching, engaging and entertaining."
On Tuesday, Orliński opens a European tour to promote Beyond with a concert in Wrocław, southwestern Poland. It will be followed by a performance in Warsaw on October 26 and then dates in Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Portugal and Luxembourg.
