Ukrainian zoo rescues pets abandoned in war: audio report

Vladimir Putin’s war has radically changed the lives of many Ukrainians, forcing them from their homes to escape Russian shelling and seek safety.

As people fled war-torn towns and cities, many took their pets with them. In some cases, however, this was not possible.

A family zoo in the city of Zaporizhia, called “Jungle World,” has been making efforts to help rescue abandoned animals.

Khrystyna Pichkur spoke to the owner of the zoo, Khrystyna Nesterenko, to find out more.
