"This is the fifth or sixth protest by carriers in the Dorohusk district," said the mayor of the district, Wojciech Sawa. "This one was very long, so on Monday I made the decision to disband the assembly immediately."
He added: “I provided the hauliers with enough opportunity; they could protest for 40 days. No one wanted to talk to them or help them. Now, they'll have to seek support elsewhere."
Polish truckers have been blockading four of the country's eight road crossings with Ukraine since early November.
They are protesting what they say has been a "flood" of Ukrainian carriers since restrictions on their entry to the EU were loosened in the wake of Russia’s invasion, according to reports.
