Her visit included a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, followed by a speech in the upper house, the Senate, and a debate with students at the University of Warsaw.

During her two-day stay in Poland, Metsola emphasized the country’s leadership role in the European Union, saying she celebrates Poland’s return to the heart of Europe.

"For the European Parliament, for me, and for politicians of my generation, Poland is the beating heart of European values,” she said addressing the Senate in Polish.

“Poland's place is at the centre of Europe,” she added.
