The suggestion comes after Poland has taken in over 3 million Ukrainian refugees.

The move aims to express Kyiv residents' gratitude to the Polish nation, the Do Rzeczy weekly wrote.

In the wake of the Russian and Belarussian invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv’s authorities are planning to rid some 500 streets and several metro stations of their Russian or Belarussian associations, as well as pull down around 60 Russia-related statues and commemorative plaques, according to the newspaper.

New names are set to honour Ukrainian war heroes, including the victims of the Bucha killings.

The final decision on the subway station renaming from ‘Minsk’ to ‘Warsaw’ now lies with the Kyiv authorities, Do Rzeczy noted.
