Asked if the hostilities in Ukraine would end in 2023, 52.1 percent of respondents replied in the negative, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Meanwhile, 28.1 percent of those asked said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would end this year.

The remaining 19.8 percent of respondents said they didn’t have an opinion on the subject.

Scepticism about the chances of the war ending in 2023 was especially marked among supporters of Poland's opposition parties (57 percent), men (59 percent), 40-year-olds (61 percent), inhabitants of medium-sized cities (58 percent) and big cities (54 percent), as well as those with secondary education (58 percent) and university education (54 percent), the survey found.

These respondents gather information about the world from news websites, such as onet.pl and wp.pl (58 percent) or from radio programmes (62 percent), according to the poll.

The survey was conducted by the pollsters IBRIS for the Rzeczpospolita newspaper, the PAP news agency reported.

Monday is day 341 of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
